
Councillor Neill Watts was delighted to visit the MaidSafe Foundation's centre in Ochiltree, he was also joined by Sharon Dowey MSP and Councillor John McFadzean, they were all fascinated by the amazing work that Margaret and her Team do to push S.T.E.M activities within our local communities and Schools.
The MaidSafe Foundation has a focus on helping to create opportunities for young and disadvantaged people, enabling them to actively use their talents and potential to benefit their communities and society, with this in mind they have opened there first Centre in Ochiltree where the community can make use of their free facilities, breaking down any barriers they have to access our services.
Councillor Neill Watts said "It was an absolutely great visit and Councillor John McFadzean and I really enjoyed riding on the Energy Bike, we are so lucky to have this facility here in our community here in East Ayrshire."
Sharon Dowey MSP said: “It was a real pleasure to visit the Maidsafe Foundation at their centre in Ochiltree. I particularly enjoyed hearing about the multiple projects across the area that the team have facilitated, and the positive impacts they have had. By offering young people opportunities to explore STEM subjects through practical, hands-on learning, the Maidsafe Foundation is helping inspire the next generation of engineers, designers, and innovators."
