AS one of the local councillors for the Ballochmyle Ward I meet many people and never fail to be amazed at how many care for other members of their family or neighbours and friends.
They seek neither pay nor recognition and I am not sure that everyone appreciates the contribution that they make to our society. Please remember to thank them at Christmas and to wish them well.
We also have many other unsung heroes who go about their business sometimes without thanks and sometimes with abuse including the emergency services. As you enjoy your Christmas dinner with your family please think of the folk who are working to protect, care and keep you safe away from their own families.
Finally can I wish all of my constituents a long , happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
